The elders encourage and support spiritual growth of our church family by distributing the Sacrament, greeting worshipers, and responding to people in need. The elders provide for the reception and release of those who join and leave our parish. They support the pastors in caring for the spiritual condition of Trinity. They appoint times for worship services and aid in the conduct of those services as needed. Elders also serve as the call committee in cases of pastoral vacancies and such other times as the church council may determine.

It supervises the overall work within the congregation, makes strategic plans, and takes corrective steps when necessary. A Church Council member must be a communicant member of Trinity, male or female. He/She must be a spiritual person, regular in worship and in the study of God’s Word.

THE TIME IS NOW—Advent marks the beginning of the church year. What a perfect time to begin something in your own spiritual life by taking a new Bible Study class. We have classes taught by Pastor Mueller, Jr., Pastor Mueller, Sr., Pastor Noll, Pastor Warmann, Vicar Gibbons, Deaconess Lis, small groups, and an expanding list of Trinity U offerings spread throughout the week—carpe diem! Topics range from studying individual books of the Bible to "hot topics" of the day. Classes are offered on several days of the week, both during the day and evening.
SUNDAY—
THE THREE KINGS—9:30 & 11 a.m., Family Life Center
We are about four sessions away from our goal: The Three Kings—Saul, David and Solomon. We've come a long way from the creation, the garden, the flood, the tower, the giving of a New Deal to Abraham! Remember Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and all their entanglements? Then came the leap from Genesis to Exodus, hundreds of years leading to the Moses/Miriam/Aaron family team. Pharaoh? The Passover? The escape to the desert? Sinai! The Ten Commandments! Lots of self-induced ups and downs leading up to Joshua, the Jordan, and Jericho, and after about 50 years, a series of judges. That's where we are now. We'll spend the next weeks with judges like Gideon and Samson before we slow down to meet a fascinating mother, Hanna, and a little boy, Samuel. Samuel is the last of the cast of characters leading to our goal: Saul-David-Solomon. Of course the class is much more than a historical survey. It's all about life first then and now. Don't stand apart. Be a part. You'll fit right in with many others who are committed to life long learning.
TUESDAY—
TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS—9:30 a.m., Church Library
What can we learn from the women of the Bible? Come and find out as we study the book Great Women of the Bible. Questions? Call Arlene Eisenbraun at 630.837.1574.
GENESIS—7 p.m., Sanctuary
We are following the development of the people of God and the plan of God to save His people. We’ll study the lives of the patriarchs and revisit many of the Biblical stories that form the basis of our beliefs.
WEDNESDAY—
SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY—9:30 a.m., Activity Room
Friendship, lively conversation, and a study of the Gospel of John; come and participate! Whether you have never studied the Bible or if you are an old pro, you will benefit from the Apostle John’s powerful witness to the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the World. We are always happy to make new friends. Join us! For info, contact Vicar Tom Gibbons at 630.259.8466.
THE THREE KINGS—9:30 a.m., Family Life Center (See Sunday’s info.)
THURSDAY—
EARLY BIRD BIBLE STUDY: PHILIPPIANS—6:30 a.m., FLC
The only requirement for this class, taught by Pastor Mueller, Jr., is that you read—or listen—carefully. Coffee and donuts make that easier.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—9:30 a.m., Activity Room
We are studying John: An Intimate Look at the Savior. John’s Gospel reveals the wonder of Christ as seen through the eyes of a close friend. Join us as we grow and learn more about our Savior. Child care is available.
FRIDAY—
WOMEN’S ONCE-A-MONTH BIBLE STUDY—6:30p.m., REC
Join us in the new year on January 15, as we continue our study of the Fruits of the Spirit. We will learn more about being peaceful and patient as Christian women. The $10 fee includes a light dinner with wine. Sign up at the front desk or contact Deaconess Rogene at 630.259.8418 or Rogene@trinityroselle.com.
SATURDAY—
MEN’S GROUP, IN THE COMPANY OF JESUS—December 19, 8 a.m., Activity Room
All men are invited to join us as we as we continue the series on the book by Bill Donahue. Our next discussion will be “Jesus, the Supreme Conqueror.” Contact Pastor Warmann at 630.894.3263 x224 or doug@trinityroselle.com.

Children Matter to Us at Trinity!
Jesus said, "Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 9:14). At Trinity we agree--let the children come and discover Jesus and His incredible love. We are committed to meeting the needs of the WHOLE family, never regarding children as "second class citizens." It is one of Trinity's priorities to teach children about Christ's love and help them discover what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Classes, programs, and activities are geared toward serving and loving children. The Child and Family Ministry is blessed with many opportunities to reach out to families and children, engaging, encouraging, and promoting Christ-centered teachings and values to the families of Trinity and to the surrounding community. Mission Ministry
Mission Ministry enjoys sharing the love of Jesus and the gifts of Trinity with thousands of people around the globe.
|
|
|
|
To encourage Trinity members to grow in their own faith by sharing the love of Jesus around the world as we follow Christ's command in Acts 1:8 to be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
What Mission Ministry does--
- Trinity's Mission Ministry spreads the Gospel and shares the love of Jesus through mission outreaches on six continents.
- We review, process, and make decisions regarding the many requests and mission opportunities that are presented to Trinity.
- We encourage Trinity's college students to consider careers as church workers and provide funds to those who have served in a called church position for one year.
- We encourage Trinity members and expect members of the ministry to go on domestic and international short-term mission trips.
- We display a collection of flags from around the world in the Sanctuary as a visual reminder to the congregation of where we have sponsored mission outreaches.
- We write the bi-monthly MISSION FOCUS segments for the church bulletin that highlight our past and current mission activities.

Older Adult/JOY Ministry
JOY is a youthful group for those fifty and older, celebrating life and exploring the endless adventures available for those who are ready to explore what God has in store for them.
|
|
|
|
Senior adults are gifts of God who share their insights, provide encouragement to others, and use their special God-given gifts in service to the Lord. We encourage seniors to be about the work of the Lord as they worship, have daily devotions, attend Bible classes, witness to others, and serve the Lord with JOY.
A few of the many things the JOY group has done--
- The Senior Adult Ministry provides the Christmas dinner for those participating in the MYMS program.
- We attend a Schaumburg Flyers baseball game to create fellowship with one another and with other members of Trinity and the community.
- Our JOY group began the AIMS mentor program four years ago, and we continue to recruit seniors and others to be mentors in our local schools.
- We provide two monthly meetings with speakers, entertainment, and food.
