Patricia Spence will speak about the life of Artist Ai Weiwei. He was born in Beijing in 1957 and still resides there. He is a Chinese contemporary artist and activist. As a political activist, he has been openly critical of the Chinese government’s stance on democracy and human rights. He has been arrested and jailed because of his activism.

2019 Spring Tea Stepping Stones invites you to join us at this year’s Spring Tea. Stepping Stones provides a two year program of housing and mentoring to women who have escaped domestic violence. Our goal is to raise $15,000 through this year’s Tea, which will be used to provide an apartment, furniture, daily necessities, and counseling for a woman and her children, which costs about $13,000 for one client family for one year.
