FAQ…
Trinity Lutheran Church welcomes members into our community of faith in many ways.
- Being baptized at Trinity automatically makes one a baptized member of Trinity.
- Adult members and families may transfer their membership to Trinity from other Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregations.
- Other Christians may join Trinity after completing our Membership Exploration Class, which teaches about Trinity and reviews the basics of the Christian faith.
- Those becoming Christians also complete the Membership Exploration Class, at which time they may be baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Call 630.894.3263 for more information.
Trinity Lutheran Church is happy to arrange for the baptism of children and adults. Baptisms normally occur during worship services. Those interested in having their children baptized attend a 1.5 hour pre-baptism course offered on the third Thursday of each month. Babysitting is provided. Teenagers and adults normally complete confirmation instruction prior to being baptized. Call 630.894.3263 to begin the process

The privilege of being married at Trinity is reserved for those who publicly practice their Christian faith. That is most clearly seen in regular worship attendance. Typically, weddings are limited to Friday evenings, Saturdays afternoons, and Sundays after 1 p.m. Those interested in having their wedding at Trinity must first meet with one of the pastors prior to setting the date. At that time, details regarding the wedding will be discussed. Other requirements include participation in four pre-marital counseling sessions. Call 630.894.3263 to inquire about the availability of wedding dates and to arrange for a meeting with a pastor. Complete info here.
One does not have to be a member of Trinity for a pastor to perform a funeral service for someone. Members may choose to have a funeral in the Sanctuary, funeral home, or cemetery. Non-member funerals are typically limited to the funeral home or cemetery and may be arranged if there is an available pastor. Call 630.894.3263 for more information.
At Trinity, children going into seventh grade begin confirmation class. Spread over two years, these classes teach the basics of the Christian faith from Luther’s Small Catechism. These include the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the “Office of the Keys,” or forgiveness. In addition, students grow in their faith relationship with God and their relationships with others. After being instructed in the Lord’s Supper, students may choose to receive this Sacrament prior to their confirmation. The confirmation experience ends with the Rite of Confirmation, held in the Fall. At that time, students become communicant members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Call 630.894.3263 for more information.
